Data strategies

The digital transformation is a challenge for many companies. Heterogeneous processes and fragmented systems create additional obstacles in the construction and real estate industry. pom+ supports companies in the development and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy and the successful introduction of end-to-end data management.

Our services

  • Development of a data strategy
  • Definition of criteria in data quality management
  • Definition and documentation of the relevant governance processes and escalation levels
  • Identification and introduction of relevant key technologies

Today, the construction and real estate industry looks at data primarily from a technical perspective. In many companies, this is the responsibility of the IT department. But successful data initiatives are based on several factors, many of which are at the management level. A sustainable data culture, for example, requires a clear vision and implementation roadmap, as well as solid governance.

In this context, the fragmentation of the real estate industry poses a particular challenge: Data is often created and managed by different parties. The high heterogeneity leads to inconsistent decisions and poor data quality, little flexibility and operational inefficiencies due to process errors. This quickly leads to high costs for all parties involved and can even have a negative impact on a company's reputation.

We support you in finding and implementing targeted solutions to these problems and make your organisation fit for the digital requirements in a networked future. We help you to anchor your data as assets in your core business and to build up data management from a strategic perspective. Furthermore, we accompany you in identifying and introducing the key technologies relevant to you (e.g. Augmented Reality AR, Virtual Reality VR, Internet of Everything, Artificial Intelligence AI or Machine Learning) and define the guidelines for their use within the organisation.

Data Governance

The organisational aspects of data strategy are captured in data governance. It is the key to everything that happens with data in a company and enables your organisation to work and deal with data properly. We see data governance as essential to be able to use and maintain data profitably in the core business.

Successful use requires a structured data organisation on the business side as well as governance with established processes for requirements, escalation and data quality management. In this context, the Target Operating Model (TOM), how the organisation sets itself up in operational business and project operations. We lay the relevant foundations for this and thus support you in increasing the weighting of your data in the core business.

Data management

Collaboration in the networked world requires cross-system data handling. This includes various activities such as the collection, quality assurance, analysis, integration, modelling, visualisation, archiving and also destruction of your data. Effective data management therefore requires that your data is consistently aggregated, structured, stored, organised and managed. This also makes it easier to check and guarantee data protection and data security guidelines. Here we distinguish between data management at the organisational level and life cycle data management (LCDM) at the real estate level.

In the organisational context, we support you with a holistic approach that is based on a business engineering approach at its core. First, we analyse your data flows and identify and assess existing gaps. Based on these findings and your data strategy, we define the relevant fields of action and derive necessary measures for them. We do not limit these to technical steps, but also consider data management from a strategic, process-related and organisational perspective. The result is a pragmatic and coherent roadmap in a traffic light system for your organisation that shows who has to do what and when.

Advanced Analytics

The efficient analysis and processing of large amounts of data - "Big Data" - is becoming increasingly important for organisations. Advanced analytics can be used to identify complex data patterns, make predictions, find correlations and automate decisions.

We help you to use your data as profitably as possible and to uncover untapped potential. To do this, we analyse and compare existing information, create and visualise new connections and thus lay the foundations for the development of intelligent business processes. In doing so, we supplement and combine your space and property information with data from various core systems such as ERP, CRM, property model LIM, portfolio information management PIM, order information management AIA, etc. with Sustainability indicators,Data from the Controlling and  Risk management or financial information.
